Anti-CAA protests: Tinsukia District Congress demands release of party workers

A press conference was held at Congress Bhawan in Tinsukia today.

Jayanta Kalita, President District Congress Committee addressed the Press conference in the presence of Numal Bora, General secretary APCC, Birinchi Neog secretary APCC, Arun Sahu secretary APCC, Jiban Kurmi Vice President DCC, Snehamoy Bardhan Vice President DCC, Hira Devi Treasurer DCC and many office bearers of District Congress Committee.

Kalita said that Congress workers were arrested (during CAA protest) in false cases with no proper evidences.

He further claimed that around 19 people have been arrested so far in Tinsukia district for their anti-CAA protests.

The 12 out of them are Congress workers, 6 from Margherita, 5 from Digboi, and one from Tinsukia.

He also accused the BJP and RSS of vendetta politics. He pointed out that the police are working at the behest of BJP and RSS and all the arrests so far have been done accordingly.
