Train drags Wild Jumbo to death in Lumding

In a tragic incident, a wild jumbo died after being hit by Agartala-Howrah Kanchanjungha Express (13176) while it was crossing the railway track near Lumchakhang in Lumding.

As per reports, another elephant calf was seriously injured during the collision.

Following the incident, Railway authorities along with Forest officials rushed towards the location site and cremated the carcass of the elephant. They also shifted the elephant calf to Kaziranga for better medication.
