A 10 year old boy was injured in a leopard attack at the Jyoti Nagar area of Mariani town in Jorhat district of Assam.
The incident occurred when the boy was on his way to attend the Kali Puja festivities held at the Jyoti Nagar Kali Puja Mandap near his home.
According to reports, a leopard has been roaming in the vicinity of the Forest Office in Mariani town for more than a month now and the forest department has failed to capture or chase it away
Prior to this incident, the leopard has attacked and injured a few people and has also killed livestock earlier.
