AIUDF MLA Aminul Islam's Effigy burnt at Duliajan

Tai Ahom Yuva Parishad Assam (TAIPA), All Tai Ahom Student Union (ATASU) and All Assam Minority Student's Union (AAMSU) of the Duliajan unit burnt the effigy of Dhing Community's MLA Aminul Islam and warned that if he tried to enter Dibrugarh district they will attack him.

MLA Aminul Islam who recently made a controversial comment that Ahom's are not indigenous people of Assam but the Bengali-speaking Miya Muslims who migrated from East Pakistan or erstwhile East Bengal belong are the indigenous people of the state. The comment has sparked anger among various student bodies.
