AJYCP forms Human Chain against NHPC at Gogamukh in Dhemaji

As part of its series of movements against the memorandum of agreement (MoA) signed recently between the Assam Government and NHPC for the implementation of Lower Subansiri Hydroelectric Project, the influential Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) has formed a human chain at Mohori Camp of Gogamukh under Dhemaji District on Monday.

Several lakhs of affected people have joined the chain along with AJYCP unit of four districts namely Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Majuli and Biswanath.

The students bodies also chanted anti-NHPC slogans "NHPC Go Back", "NHPC Hoshiyar" while staging a protest rally.

It is to be noted that AJYCP to conduct a mass agitation against NHPC for the implementation of Lower Subansiri Hydroelectric Project in Guwahati on September 13, 2019.
