Army apprehended OGWs of ULFA (I) at Rajgarh

AN OGWs OF ULFA (I) JITEN SAHA AND JUNAID AHMED APPREHENDED IN NANABAT NANKE CHARALI NEAR RAJGARH

On 08 May 2018, the 9th Battalion of the Rajputana Rifles under Dao Division successfully crack down a hardcore active ULFA (I) cadre SS Sgt DipanjitHandique. This was a major operation to get down ULFA (I) activities in Upper Assam.

Just a week after this successful operation, 9th Battalion of the Rajputana Rifles under Dao Division launched another operation on 17 May 18 at 12:30 pm.

Based on specific intelligence input received from own sources regarding movement of two Over Ground Workers and arms dealer in general area NanabatNankeCharali under Police Station Rajgarh, operation was launched by Dibrugarh Army Camp at NanabatNankeCharali on 17 May 2018 at 1230 hrs.

During this operation two Over Ground Workers of ULFA (I) and arms dealer identified as JitenSaha s/o DevilalaSaha aged 31 years resident of No 2 BalijanGaon, Police Station Naharkatia, district Dibrugarh and Junaid Ahmed s/o late Nasiruddin aged 28 years resident of Sonari Town, Police Station Sonari Town, District Charaideo have been apprehended. Both the apprehended Over Ground Workers were moving in one Mahindra KUV 100 car Registration No AS 04 Q4817.

One Chinese made Pistol with two magazines,three Mobile phones, ATM Cards and Rs 600/- Indian Currency have also been recovered from the Over Ground Workers of ULFA (I).

The apprehended Over Ground Workers of ULFA (I) have beenhanded over to PS Rajgarh where First Information Report have been lodged.

This operation is part of the ongoing crack down by security forces against the terrorist outfit active in Upper Assam.
