Assam News: Karimganj's MLA unhappy with the final NRC list

The long wait for the final NRC draft is over. People came out into the service centers to check out if their names were included in the list or not. Till now no chaos has been seen in Karimganj, Assam. In the previous list only 38% names were included whereas in the final draft 99.53% names were included. Out of 13 lakhs 24 thousand 96 applicant, 12 lakhs 99 thousand 997 names appeared in the final list.In spite of 92% names inclusion in the NRC final draft North Karimganj's MLA Kamalakhya Dey Purkayastha said he is not happy of the fact that the list missed out 1 lakhs and 40 lakhs from entire Assam for which Government has to mention the numbers in the upcoming election.
