Assam: Small Tea Growers Voice Demands

The small tea growers of Assam and BTC region today expressed their incapability to pay Rs. 244 per day to unorganized daily wage laborers working in their garden and demanded hike of rate on green leaves. The growers opposed the regulation of the government on payment to laborers especially in unorganized sector but passed their pitch for controlling minimum support price to the workers. A joint meeting of AASTGC and ABSTGA with Jousrang Boro, president of ABSTGA was also held.
