Habitat Loss leads to rise in Man-Elephant Conflict in West Karbi Anglong's Kheroni | 31 Dec, 2019

Once again a herd of elephants sneaked into the Feleping Lalung village under Kheroni Forest Division destroying at least 7 houses . The incident took place in West Karbi Anglong's Kheroni . Locals alleged that the Forest Department failed to take satisfactory action despite a woman getting killed a few days ago after being trampled by a herd of elephants. The region has often witnessed many such man-elephant conflicts.
