Minority Scholarship Scam Busted in Nagaon, One Arrested

Based on a case lodged at Juria Police Station (Case No 350/19) under section 420, 417, 477(A), 409 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Nagaon police arrested one Md Shahjahan Ali for his alleged involvement in misappropriation of funds in the name of Minority Scholarships in Nagaon.

Police also recovered photo copies of details confirming the bank accounts which were used in usurping the money. Police upon further verification recovered details of more than 2500 plus bank account in a 26 page list in the mobile handset of accused Md Shahjahan Ali.

Addressing the media, SP Sankarbrata Rai Medhi informed that above mentioned bank accounts were allegedly used for usurping money in the name of minority scholarships.

A Special Investigating Team (SIT) also being formed to investigate the case.
