NEDA Convener Himanta Biswa Sarma addresses Media

NEDA Convener Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday informed that the Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the sidelines of Northeast Democratic Alliance's (NEDA) 4th conclave assured all the Chief Ministers of the Northeast that proposed Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2016 will have a cutoff date of 31st December 2014.

Sarma also informed that the Union Minister had assured that the proposed CAB will not, in any way, override the provisions of the 6th Schedule, Inner Line Permit and State acts like Meghalaya Residents Safety and Security Act.
