Rapido Captains become jobless from Satuday! Expressed their pain before THE SENTINEL DIGITAL

The office-bearers and riders of Rapido Bike Taxi Service expressed their grievances on Monday against the DTO, Kamrup (M) for suspending the service.

The Assam Transport Department on Saturday banned the Rapido-Bike Taxi Service in Guwahati for operating without availing any commercial license or commercial permit from the DTO, Kamrup Metro.

The team of Assam's transport department carried out a raid at the Jonali office of Rapido in Guwahati and sealed the office.

Informing this, DTO official, Bapan Kalita told The Sentinel Digital, that the Rapido-Bike Taxi Service is operating in the city without proper documentation since 2019, therefore, the Commissioner of Assam Transport has passed an order to ban the service until further orders.

Earlier on August 27, 2019; the Transport Department launched operations against the Rapido captains for violating norms.
