10 Pakistan cricket team players test Covid-19 positive, announces PCB

As the deadly Coronavirus continues to wreak havoc across the globe, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that 10 players have tested positive for COVID-19 during a round of tests ahead of the team's departure for England on June 28.

Earlier, three players – Haider Ali, Haris Rauf, and Shadab Khan -- tested positive. Afterwards, a further seven names – Fakhar Zaman, Imran Khan, Kashif Bhatti, Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Hasnain, Mohammad Rizwan and Wahab Riaz were diagnosed with the virus.

Among the support staff Malang Ali, the masseuse, has also contracted the virus.

The PCB stated that none of the players who have tested positive showed any symptoms prior to their COVID-19 testing, adding that all those who have tested positive have been asked to remain in quarantine at their homes while the remaining players and support staff members will undergo a second round of testing in Lahore on June 25.

It has been reported that those players who test negative a second time will then depart for England, where they will be tested once more within 24 hours of arrival.

As per UK government regulations, the team will then enter a two-week quarantine, during which they will be able to train in a bio-secure environment.
