GUWAHATI, Aug 30: Assam won 16 medals in the North East Taekwondo (boys and girls) Champion of Champions meet which concluded at the DTRP Indoor stadium here today. The president of the Assam Taekwondo Association minister Atul Bora, Pabitra Margherita, MP, Rajya Sabha, Y Khemchand Singh, Manipur cabinet minister, World Taekwondo Coordinator for India Kiarash Bahri and the general secretary of the Assam Taekwondo Association Hiranya Saikia attended the events today and motivated the players.
The medal winners: Boys: U-54kg Bitu Gogoi (Gold) and Nirman Rupam Kashyap (Silver). U-58 kg Suraj Kumar Sah (Gold) and Thyam Rahan Singha (Silver). U-63 kg Dibakar Durah (Gold), Suraj Pratim Dutta (Silver). U-74 kg Dikshant Kashyap (Gold). Girls: U-46 kgs Manashi Gogoi (Gold), Thapana Handique (Silver), U-49 kg Nayatri Chetia (Gold), Riya Gohain (Silver), U-53 kg Manumati Dohutia (Gold), Joysree Basumatari (Silvers). U-57kg Sonamika Barma (Gold). U-73 kg Jhanvi Majumdar (Gold) and Maina Saikia (Silver).
