GUWAHATI: Assam wrapped up their campaign in the 38th National Games with a defeat in the mixed netball event, falling to Uttarakhand in their final group league match on Thursday. The Games will officially conclude on Friday in Haldwani.

As of now, Services lead the medal tally with 120 medals, including 67 gold. Despite securing a higher total of 193 medals, Maharashtra sits in second place due to a lower gold count.

Assam are at 24th in the overall rankings, securing a total of 34 medals—3 gold, 15 silver, and 16 bronze. The state won medals across 11 disciplines: Boxing, Lawn Bowls, Wushu, Weightlifting, Aquatics, Taekwondo, Cycling, Archery, Badminton, Netball, and Athletics.

Boxing proved to be Assam’s strongest event, yielding 2 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze, while Lawn Bowls contributed the highest tally with 9 medals (1 gold, 3 silver, and 5 bronze).

In comparison, Assam had a stronger showing in the previous National Games held in Goa, where they secured 56 medals, including 14 gold, 20 silver, and 22 bronze.
