“I shall try to cross the English Channel next year. However, I want to go there with good preparation. So as a part of my preparation I shall swim in the North Channel this year,” he said.

Guwahati: Former international swimmer Elvis Ali Hazarika will participate in a few adventures swimming as a part of his preparation for the English Channel Expedition. The first one will start on September 17 and it will be followed by another one either in December this year or February, 2023.

Talking to the media person Elvis today said, "I shall try to cross the English Channel next year. However, I want to go there with good preparation. So as a part of my preparation I shall swim in the North Channel this year."

Sharing details about swimming in the North Channel, the swimmer, who created several national records earlier, said :"In the North Channel I shall swim between North Ireland to Scotland and the journey will begin from North Ireland on September 17."

Later the swimmer will take part in another adventurous event where he will participate in a relay swimming with two other swimmers Vinayak Kadam and Ganesh Palande. The trio will start swimming from Gujarat and will finish at Goa after touching the shore of Mumbai. The total distance of the journey is around 800kms and will take around 10-12 days.
