GUWHATI: Assam bagged two more medals in the 36th National Games in Gujarat today. Among the two medals, one is gold which was collected by promising swimmer Astha Choudhury. The other medal also came in swimming and it was collected by Bikram Changmai.

The day belonged to Astha. The swimmer created record twice. First, she broke the record of Richa Sarma in the heats of 100m Butterfly and later bettered her own record in the final in the same event.

Astha, today clocked 1:03.90 in the heats to break Rich Sarma's record and qualified for the final. In the evening she clocked 1.03.38 in 100m Butterfly and during this process she bettered her own record to win gold medal.

Bikram collected silver in the Men's 100m butter fly with the timing of 55.73 sec.

Meanwhile Hima Das today entered into the final in the women 200m race with timing 23.98 sec. Amlan Borgohain also qualified into the semifinal in the 200m race. He clocked 21.20 sec. Both the athletes will return into the track on October 4 to run in those events.
