MUMBAI: Mumbai's Ayush Mhatre has written his name in the record books as the youngest player to score 150-plus runs in men’s List A cricket. The milestone was achieved during Tuesday's Vijay Hazare Trophy match against Nagaland at Ahmedabad, surpassing Yashasvi Jaiswal's previous record. Mhatre, aged 17 years and 168 days, broke Jaiswal's mark of 17 years and 291 days, set in 2019 during a match for Mumbai against Jharkhand.

In a dazzling display of power hitting, Mhatre smashed 11 sixes and 15 fours to score a blistering 181 off just 117 balls. His explosive innings helped Mumbai post an imposing total of 403 for 7 in their allotted 50 overs. Nagaland, overwhelmed by the target, succumbed to a crushing 189-run defeat.(Agencies)
