MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India on Thursday announced a cash prize of Rs. 58 crore for the ICC Champions Trophy-winning Indian team, where the head coach will receive Rs 3 crore, each player will receive Rs 3 crore, and each member of the support staff will receive Rs 50 lakhs.

This financial reward acknowledges the contributions of the players, coaching staff, support staff, and the Men’s Selection Committee in securing yet another ICC title.

India put on strong performances throughout the tournament under the leadership of Captain Rohit Sharma. They started with a six-wicket win over Bangladesh, followed by another six-wicket victory against Pakistan. Before defeating Australia by four wickets in the semi-final, the momentum continued with a victory of 44 runs over New Zealand.

In the grand finale held in Dubai on March 9, India once again faced New Zealand. Sharma led from the front with a stroke-filled 76, guiding his team to a four-wicket victory and sealing the prestigious title.

BCCI President Roger Binny lauded the team’s achievement, stating, “Winning back-to-back ICC titles is special, and this reward recognizes Team India’s dedication and excellence on the global stage. The cash award is a recognition of the hard work that everyone puts in behind the scenes.”
