Brian Lara Surprised With Development of Pace Attack of Indian Cricket Team

MUMBAI: The former captain of West Indies Brain Lara today said he is surprised with the development of pace attack of the Indian cricket team. He compared the current Indian pace bowlers with the attack of the Caribbean team during the ’80s.
Brian Lara, who will be the part of the Road Safety World Series League, replying to a question from The Sentinel during sideline of the launch of the league said, “ India really has developed their pace attack to a great level. All are including Bhumrah, Shami, Yadav bowling superbly. Whenever I see them it reminds me of our attack during the ’80s.”
The Caribbean team lost its shine for which they were known for. Lara admitted that their national team is struggling in the international arena. “It’s true. But there are many talented cricketers in our country and what we need is just to keep little passion and guide them so that they can reach into the proper channel,” said Lara.
India is exceptionally doing well in the world cricket for the last several seasons. Lara felt it was possible because of the strong reserve bench. “You have a good reserve bench and it does not allow your team in crisis. Even junior players are doing well when they got the change to replace a senior cricketer,” said the former captain of West Indies.
Lara praised Virat Kohli a lot, particularly the way he is leading the team. According to him, “ Kohli is leading from the front and most important thing is that he is also doing well with the bat.”
Meanwhile, Sachin Tendulkar feels his former teammate Sourav Ganguly will be equally successful as the president of the BCCI. Talking to the media persons here today he said, “I am sure he will continue to serve the nation in the same capacity as he led India during his playing days.”
