The iconic former India captain Dhoni, who last played for India in the semifinal defeat against New Zealand at the 2019 World Cup in England, possibly decided to retire after the ICC postponed the T20 World Cup, which was scheduled to be held in Australia in October-November this year. Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic it had to be postponed.

Notably, Legend Dhoni was Raina's captain at India's triumphant 2011 ODI World Cup campaign.

As per offcial reports, the two Chennai Super Kings' superstars will be seen in action at the upcoming Indian Premier League in the UAE.

Fans and celebrities have stormed to social media to wish Dhoni and Raina, with the latter being greeted with a special message from his wife, Priyanka.

"Though I'm still processing this! All I can say is I'm bursting with pride, Immense pride. My heart is just filled with respect and gratitude @ImRaina," Priyanka tweeted on Saturday.
