Chelsea Thrash Southampton In Shootout To Advance To Carabao Cup Fifth Round
London: Chelsea advanced into the fifth round of Carabao Cup, as the latter thrashed Southamptom on Tuesday night.
In the fourth round of the Carabao Cup which was played at Stamford bridge, Chelsea came out with flying colours after they beat Southampton. The game ended in a 1-1 draw in regular time.
Before half-time, Kai Havertz put Chelsea in front by scoring at the right time.
However, Che Adams tried hard and in the second half struck back for the visitors to level the score, but eventually the match headed to a shootout.
In the shootout, the Reece James helped Chelsea to march towards fifth round as he scored the decisive goal from the spot.
