CM Sarbananda Sonowal visits Multipurpose Sports Complex project site

DIBRUGARH: The Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal during his recent visit to Dibrugarh, visited project site of Multipurpose Sports Complex at Khanikar and had reviewed the progress of work of the project. Sonowal asked the PWD (Building) department to complete the main stadium by February,2021. This Multipurpose Sports Complex in Dibrugarh has been constructing with the line of Sarusojai Stadium in Guwahati.

During inspection, Chief Minister asked the department to complete the entire project within the scheduled period by utilising the workable time period judiciously. Answering a query of Chief Minister, the executive Engineer of PWD (Building) informed that there would be provision in enhancing the seat capacity of the main stadium from existing 25,000 to 40,000 . Sonowal also asked the department as well as the construction company to arrange more spaces in between all entry and exit point in the stadium for parking of vehicles and asked to undertake beautification wok around the sports complex by planting trees.

With the successful completion of this sports complex which comprises of swimming pool, indoor stadium, practice ground, athletic tract and other facilities will certainly help sports persons of this region to practice with modern sports facilities rather than to hold National and International sports meet.
