GUWAHATI: Assam lost their last league game in the Ranji Trophy against Andhra Pradesh by an innings and 95 runs at Vizianagaram on Thursday. In reply to Assam first innings total 113, Andhra Pradesh scored 361 in their first innings. Later the home team bowled out Assam 153 in the second innings yesterday. Although captain Kunal Saikia and Gokul Sharma tried to put a little resistance in the second innings adding 56 runs on the 6th wicket but there was no support from the other batters of the team. Kunal, the highest scorer in the innings, contributed 36 with the help of five boundaries. Gokul scored 25 before getting out. Assam finished the competition with 11 points from seven games and stayed at the seventh place in the 8 teams' elite 'B' group. The win helped Andhra Pradesh to bag second spot in the points table with 26 points.
