

Guwahati: A new indoor cricket facility was inaugurated in the city today. The new infrastructure named- Icon Indoor Cricket Arena- was started by the Icon Sports Academy at the Bonda locality in the city.
The Secretary of the Assam Cricket Association and the Advocate General, Assam Devajit Saikia attended the inaugural function as the Chief Guest and also inaugurated the arena in presence of several former cricketers and sports organizers.
Speaking in the function Saikia termed the occasion as momentous for Cricket in Assam Underscoring the significance of Indoor Cricket facilities he said that the newly developed state-of-the-art Icon Indoor Cricket Arena would play a pivotal role in enhancing the performance of the professional cricketers of the State.
The newly built infrastructure is equipped with five wickets and has flood light facilities.
The inaugural ceremony was also attended by the ACA officials Tridib Konwar, Kamakhya Saikia, former cricketers Naba Konwar, Rajesh Borah, Rajinder Singh, Shankar Datta Lahkar, Gautam Hazarika, Gautam Dutta and Radha Bora, president of the Icon Sports Academy.
