GUWAHATI, Aug 30: A solid ton from Dibash Hazarika went in vain as Manas Tigers lost their Assam T-20 Challengers Trophy tie by 4 wickets against Barak Bravehearts at the Amingaon Cricket ground here today.
Elected to bat, Manas Tigers scored 181-3 in 20 overs. Opener Dibash Hazarika looked solid in the middle and the batsman took just 69 balls to score 112 runs with the help of 12 boundaries and six over boundaries. His opening partner Wasiqur Rahman (34) also gave good support to him and the duo added 126 runs on the opening wicket in 13 overs. However Barak Bravehearts reached the target in 19.3 overs losing six wickets. While opener Rahul Hazarika (56) scored half century, Subham Mandal (40) and Hrishikesh Tamuli (33no) also contributed well in the middle order. Hrishikesh Borah bagged 3-29.
In the other game of the day at the same venue Kaziranga Heroes beat Subansiri Champs by 4 wickets. Sumit Ghadigavkar of Subansiri Champs played an unbeaten knock of 84 runs. Kaziranga Heroes took 19.4 overs to reach the target, losing six wickets. Romario Sharma (42), Nihar Harah (32) and Akash Sengupta (27) were the major contributors. Rohit Rowniar (3-31) came out with the best bowling figure for Subansiri Champs.
