Elections would be held in multiple posts to constitute the new committee of the Gauhati Sports Association during its Annual General Meeting on September 12.

GUWAHATI: Elections would be held in multiple posts to constitute the new committee of the Gauhati Sports Association during its Annual General Meeting on September 12. The posts for which election to be held are president, general secretary, vice president (General), joint secretary, football secretary, hockey secretary and table tennis secretary. While present president Munin Nobis is all set to face a challenge from veteran sports organizer Pulak Goswami, for the post of general secretary existing office-bearer Dhruba Jyoti Kalita will have to contest against Kajal Paul Choudhury. However, veteran sports organizer Chhaya Boro retained his treasurer post unopposed. The other officials who also elected unopposed included: Dilip Kumar Dutta Choudhury (Vice president, Education), Ranjit Kumar Sarma and Siddhartha Sankar Deka (both as AGS), Pramod Rajbongshi (Cricket secretary), Kamini Sarma (Basketball secretary), Dipak Patowary (Badminton secretary), Amba Saikia Patgary (Volleyball secretary) and Raghabendra Mazumdar (Athletics secretary).
