GUWAHATI: Rode on fine all round performance from Genevie Pando Head Quarter lifted the 1st Kanaklata Baruah Inter Zonal Women's Cricket Title defeating Upper Assam by 8 wickets in the final held at the ACA Stadium, Barsapara here today.
Chasing 121 runs to victory in 50 overs Head Quarter reached the target in 32.1 overs losing two wickets. Genevie took 98 balls to score 50 (no) with the help of five boundaries. She got good support from Rekha Rani Bora who contributed 41 runs (4X7).
Earlier elected to bat Upper Assam managed to score 120-8 in their 50 overs.Genevie and her teammate PaporiGogoi picked up three wickets each. NibeditaBarua (44 no, 4X6) fought lone battler for Upper Assam with bat.
