GUWAHATI: Poor run of Assam in the Vinoo Mankad Cricket continued as the side lost to Hyderabad by 67 runs in Ahmedabad today.

Elected to bat, Hyderabad piled up huge total 291-6 in their 50 overs. The opening stand between Tilak Verma and Krithik Reddy contributed 92 runs in just 18.5 Overs. Tilak Verma put 81 runs on the board. Later Vignesh Reddy, who came to bat at number three position, scored a century. The batsman faced 105 balls to score 102 with the help of five boundaries and two sixes.

Assam once looked in a very comfortable position particularly when opener Parvez Musaraf and Rahaul Hazarika were in the middle. The duo on the third wicket partnership added 105 runs but once the partnership was broken Hyderabad came back strongly into the game and finally restricted Assam 224-9 in 50 overs. Parvez played a brilliant knock of 89 runs which included 11 boundaries and one six. Rohan, who is in good form, today contributed 54 runs with the help of four boundaries.

It was the fourth consecutive defeats for Assam in the competition. In their last group-league match Assam will face Tripura on Monday.
