Indian Army organizes friendly football across Upper Assam

DIGBOI: The Indian Army wings of Rupai Battalion under the aegis of 73 Mountain Brigade has been organising a series of awareness events through various means including the sports events across the Upper Assam to encourage youths for productive engagements and wean away their inclination towards unlawful activities.

In a similar attempt, to commemorate the Swarnim Vijay Varsh and instill a fitness drive amongst the local young population, Rupai Battalion of Indian Army organised a one day friendly football match on Monday afternoon here at Government Doomdooma College football field.

The interesting and objective -oriented match was played between the team Rupai Battalion of Indian Army and the team Doomdooma Sports Club wherein the later was defeated by 4 -1.

MrJogeshBaruah, Former DC, Tinsukiaalongwith the Senior faculty members of Doomdooma College attended the event along with hundreds of cheering on -lookers.

The efforts were highly praised by the local sports clubs in surrounding and all players also expressed their gratitude towards the Rupai Battalion for arranging such motivational interactions.
