GUWAHATI: Indian Ace Sprinter Hima Das, 21, on Wednesday 13 October has revealed that she is tested COVID positive as she has reported the information recently to the National Institution of Sports at its National camp in Patiala.

She has also provided the information through her social media handles by making tweets. Along with the news of being COVID positive, she also lets people know that in the current situation she is in a better condition in isolation and has nothing to worry about.

Hima also mentioned in her tweet that she is looking forward to making use of this time to get recovered steadily and hopes to come back stronger and healthier than earlier. Hima gives a gentle reminder to the people through her tweet to wear masks and stay safe as the COVID pandemic is spreading infection all over the country. Das was recovering by coming back from her severe hamstring injury which had spoilt her possibilities in the Olympic qualification event for the Nationals.

Hima Das is one of the very famous and well-known Indian athletes from the state of Assam also known with the name of "Dihing Express" has won hearts being successful in Sports.

In the world U-20 Championship held in 2018 in Jakarta of Indonesia, athlete Hima Das was the first Sprinter from India to win the world title as she succeeded in a 400-metre event and secured Gold. Hima Das in the Federation Cup 2021 was unable to make the cut required for the Tokyo Olympics as she had missed the 200-metre qualification mark of 22.80 seconds she was with the timing of 23.21 seconds. She has the record of finishing the race in just 51.46 seconds.
