NEW DELHI: Delhi Capitals won yesterday's match against Sunrise Hyderabad in Dubai International Stadium by eight wickets fuelled by superlative performance by bowler Kagiso Rabada who took three wickets. Anrich Nortje and Axar Patel got two wickets each.

Sunrise Hyderabad scored 134 runs. Shikhar Dhawan led the chase for Delhi with 42 which was followed by Shreyas Iyer (47) and skipper Rishabh Pant (35). The took the team home in 17.5 overs with an unbeaten stand of 67 for the third wicket.

Before the match started Sunrisers Hyderabad player T Natarajan had tested positive for COVID-19 at a scheduled RT-PCR test. The player was isolated from the rest of the squad. Other close contacts of the player were also placed under isolation including Vijay Shankar , Vijay Kumar - Team Manager, Shyam Sundar J - Physiotherapist, Anjana Vannan - Doctor, Tushar Khedkar - Logistics Manager,  Periyasamy Ganesan - Net Bowler. 

The IPL resumed Sunday in the United Arab Emirates after a five-month suspension due to high rise in cases of Covid-19 deaths in India.The teams participating in IPL, Dubai have been placed under strict bio bubbles. 

With this win Delhi Capitals have reached the top spot of the Indian Premier League.
