
NEW DELHI: The third round of the FIFA World Cup Asian Qualifiers resumed from Thursday, with heavyweights Australia and Japan securing comfortable wins. Japan beat Bahrain 2-0 to become the first country to qualify for the 2026 World Cup after the hosts.
With plenty of games still left and spots to be grabbed, more teams will look to qualify for the mega event (FIFA World Cup 2026), set to be played in Canada, Mexico and the USA.
Iran is currently at the top of the table in Group A, while South Korea and Japan have are at the top of the table in Group B and Group C respectively. Agencies
