44th All Assam Inter District Senior Boxing Championship begins in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The 44th All Assam Inter District Senior Boxing Championship got under way at the SAI Sports Complex in the city on Saturday. Altogether 149 boxers from various parts of the State are participating in the competition from where State team for the forthcoming National Elite Boxing Championship will be selected.

A brief opening ceremony was held at the venue on Saturday afternoon which was attended by coach of Indian boxing team Pranamika Bora, secretary geneal of Boxing Federation of India (BFI) Hemanta Kalita, coach Padum Boro, president of Assam amateur Boxing Association Kamal Kumar Goyari along with several sports organizers and senior sports journalists. The competition will be concluded on December 2.
