AITA Championship Series Tennis Tournament begins at the All Assam Tennis Association Complex

GUWAHATI: AITA Championship series Tennis Tournament got underway at the All Assam Tennis Association Complex in the city today. In the boys under 12 pre-quarter-finals, Ayan Bhuyan of Assam caused a major upset by defeating 4th seed Abhilesh Barman also from Assam in three sets 6-2, 4-6, 6-2. In the girls under 12 quarterfinals 4th seed Vedika Das of Telengana was thrown out of the tournament by unseeded Assam girl Urshita Pathak 6-0, 6-1. Tomorrow the boys singles quarterfinal matches would be held and it would be followed by the girls singles semi final.
