Assam girls’ team win Junior National Roll Ball title at Pune

GUWAHATI: Girl’s team of Assam emerged champion in the Junior National Roll Ball tournament at Pune on Monday. Boys team had to be satisfied with the bronze medal.

Girls’ team displayed good performance in the tournament and defeated Mumbai 2-1, won against UP 2-0, drew with Thane 1-1during the early part of the meet. In the semi final they won against Pune 5-0. The final was also a one sided affair where the team defeated Mumbai 5-0. In the boys category Assam lost to Akola in the semi final in extra time 5-4.
