GUWAHATI: Assam faced a 66-run defeat against Chandigarh in the Women’s Under-19 One-Day Trophy held in Surat on Saturday.
Invited to bat first, Chandigarh posted a competitive total of 192/7 in their allotted 50 overs. Deepti Walia (41) and Divniddi Sandil (34) were the top scorers for Chandigarh. Among Assam’s bowlers, Khusi Kumari stood out with an impressive 4/34, while Priyanka Kalita chipped in with 2/44.
In response, Assam’s batting lineup struggled and was dismissed for 126 in just 29.1 overs. Amontika Munda (34) and Sneha Sinha (21) were the only notable contributors with the bat. For Chandigarh, Aahan Vaid and Taisha Manchanda delivered key performances with two wickets each.
