GUWAHATI: The Assam Men’s Table Tennis team made history by clinching a bronze medal in the team championships at the UTT 86th Senior National Championships held in Surat on Wednesday. This marks Assam’s first-ever medal in the Men’s Senior National Team Championships.

The Assam team, comprising Priyanuj Bhattacharya, Anal Kashyap, Shankab Baruah, Agniv Bhaskar Gohain, and Saidul Alam Ahmed, delivered a commendable performance before falling to the formidable Railway Sports Promotion Board (RSPB) in the semi-finals with a 1-3 scoreline.

The Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) secured the gold medal, while the Railways Sports Promotion Board took home the silver.
