GUWAHATI: Bud Cricket Club secured a spot in the final of the 7th Assam Premier Club Cricket Championship with a commanding six-wicket victory over Gauhati Town Club in the semi-final at Nehru Stadium today.

After being invited to bat first, Gauhati Town Club was bowled out for 164 in 38.4 overs. Sahil Jain (43) and Sumit Kashyap (37) were the key contributors with the bat, while Priyangshu Khole (3/39) and Bhargav Dutta (2/22) led the bowling attack for Bud Cricket Club.

In response, Bud Cricket Club comfortably chased down the target in 36.1 overs, losing four wickets along the way. Jitu Ali anchored the innings with a well-crafted 50, his fourth consecutive half centuries in the meet that came from 66 balls and had five boundaries. Erik Roy (38) and Diwiz Pathak (36) provided valuable contributions to seal the win. Sumit Kashyap impressed with the ball for Gauhati Town Club, finishing with 2/28.

Thursday’s match: Navarang Club vs City Cricket Club.
