Assam Sports Journalists Association mourns sports scribe Pranjal Hazarika's demise

GUWAHATI: The Assam Sports Journalists Association has condoled the death of senior Sports Journalist Pranjal Hazarika who succumbed to prolonged ailment in his home town Jorhat recently. Hazarika, who was Sports Correspondent with Asomiya Pratidin from Jorhat, was 46 at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife and a son along with his parents and brother among a host of relatives and friends.Hazarika, the former general secretary of JB College Students' Union during his college days in Jorhat, was the former treasurer of the Assam Sports Journalists Association. In a release the secretary of the Assam Sports Journalists Association Imtiaz Ahmed said: "His demise is an irreparable loss and will leave a void in sports journalism of Assam. The Assam Sports Journalists Association condoles his demise and shares its sympathy with the bereaved family."
