Assam storm into quarters

GUWAHATI: Assam stormed into the quarterfinals in the Senior National Women Football Championship defeating Himachal Pradesh by 2-1 in their last group 'C' game at Kuthuparamba in Kerala today. Sonia Marak gave the lead on 37th minutes and Mina Basumatari increased the margin on 49th minutes.

It was the third straight victory for Assam and they finished the group stage with 9 points.

In the 1st quarter finals of the meet Assam will now face Manipur. The match will be held on Sunday.
