GUWAHATI: The 1st Achiever Chess Academy U-17 Open Chess Tournament 2025, organized by the Achiever Chess Academy, concluded recently in the city with enthusiastic participation. A total of 76 players, including 27 rated contenders, competed in the event. Debopriyo Dutta emerged as the champion, finishing unbeaten with an impressive score of 5.5 out of 6 rounds. Arhaan Rahman Bora also secured 5.5 points but was declared runner-up on the basis of tie-break scores.
Hridika Das, Aryan Sankar Goswami, and Niveer Nitul Saikia, each scoring 5 points, claimed the 3rd, 4th, and 5th spots, respectively. Alex M. Bey was adjudged as the tournament’s best youngest player.
