GUWAHATI: He visited the city for many occasions but his current visit made him a little emotional. Vinit Rai, a promising footballer from Assam who already proved his potential for the Senior India team, now visiting Guwahati with his ISL outfit Odisha FC. His team will face NEUFC in their second away game at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium here tomorrow.
Talking to the media persons Vinit today admitted that although it is little bit emotional moment for him but he is ready for the game and will try his best to give three points to Odisha FC.
“Yes, tomorrow I am not playing for the local team. But still, hope local crowed will give me full support. I love to play in this venue.”
Vinit Rai, a product of Tata football academy, earlier played for Kerala Blasters and Delhi Dynamos before joining Odisha FC this season.
Meanwhile, before the start of the season it was expected that Asamoah Gyan, the biggest signing of Indian Super League 5., would be one of the most demanding player of the league this year and it’s looked like that he is rising as per the expectation. Coaches of both NEUFC and Odisha FC today shared their expectation and anxiety for Gyan.
NEUFC coach Robert Jarni said, “It is difficult to create chances against the team like Bengaluru but he reached close to score in the game twice. All the people know him now. He is a very important player for us and hopes he will do better than Bengaluru here.”
On the other hand Odisha FC coach Josep Gombau admitted that Gyan is a very experienced player and giving him free space can bring trouble to the team.
Meanwhile, NEUFC will provide free bus services to the spectators who will visit Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium to witness the ISL games this season. The bus will start from different points of the city in the evening and at Sarusaji Sports Complex after the end of the game.
