GUWAHATI: Assam’s Anish Goswami delivered an impressive performance at the 16th KIIT International Chess Festival, held in Bhubaneswar, by scoring 7.5 points. His strong showing earned him the 7th position in the final standings as the tournament concluded on Friday. Ghorghate Sahil from Maharashtra emerged as the champion scoring 8 points. Meanwhile, six players — Tripathy Tanmaya (Odisha), Amiyanshu Bhowal (West Bengal), Durga Prasad K (Andhra Pradesh), Siddhesh Kamila (Odisha), Chirag Lahoti (Maharashtra), and Anish Goswami (Assam) — all finished with 7.5 points. Based on tie-break scores, they were placed second to seventh respectively.
