GSA to work with schools for development of sports

Guwahati: Gauhati Sports Association (GSA) will involve schools of the city for the development of sports and to scout sporting talents. The decision was taken after a meeting between the officials of the GSA and its affiliated educational institutions.

The meeting, presided over by the GSA President Pulak Goswami, was attended by representatives of 13 schools of the city. GSA will also provide coaches for training of various disciplines at the schools where there is infrastructure, but no qualified coaches. The meeting also decided that the GSA shall use the existing infrastructure of the schools for various competitions under it, and for training purposes as well. The affiliated schools also agreed to participate in the coming Inter Club and Institution Athletic meet which will be organized by the local sports body.
