GTC Men’s Spring T20 Cup: Navarang Club, 91 Yards register wins

GUWAHATI: Navarang Club won against Guwahati Giants by 8 runs in the GTC Men’s Spring T20 Cup match held at the Judges field here today. Rode on Bikiran Das’s 54 balls 59 runs (4X3, 6X4) unbeaten knock Navarang Club, invited to bat, scored 113-3 in their 20 overs. While Dibash Hazarika (27) was the other major contributor with the bat, Mrinmoy Dutta finished with 2-11, In reply Guwahati Giants managed to score 105 in 16.3 overs thanks to a nice bowling performance by Abir Chakraborty who picked five wickets giving away only 16 runs in his four overs. Rajjakuddin Ahmed (34) and Shraban Kumar Khaund (25) put some fight for Guwahati Giants.

In the day’s other match 91 Yards Club won by 5 wickets against City Cricket Club in a well contested match. The match was reduced to 10 overs due to rain. Chasing 87 runs to win, 91 Yards lost five wickets before scored the winning runs on the final ball. Rohit Sen (27), Rajendra Singh (27) and Aditya Roy Choudhury (24) were the major contributors. Rabi Chetri took 2-21. Earlier City Cricket Club posted 46-3 in 10 overs. Rohan Hazarika (36) was the top scorer in the innings.
