GUWAHATI: Guwahati registered a comprehensive 9-wicket victory over Rangia in group ‘C’ opener in the Girls Under-15 Inter-District Cricket Tournament at the Judges Field here today. Elected to bat, Rangia struggled against a disciplined Guwahati bowling attack and were bowled out for just 41 runs in 17.1 overs. Guwahati’s Sinhayana Pathak shone with the ball, taking 4 wickets for 9 runs from her four-over spell. Anandi Kumari supported well with 2 wickets for 5 runs. Chasing a modest target, the Guwahati girls wrapped up the match in just 9.3 overs, finishing at 42/1. Baibhabee Das remained unbeaten on 11, while Nafasat Begum contributed 6 runs to secure the win. Earlier in the day, the tournament was officially inaugurated by Badal Dey, Vice-President of the Guwahati Sports Association. The inaugural ceremony was also attended by Minu Begum, Member of the Apex Council, Assam Cricket Association (ACA), Joint Secretary of GSA Kajal Paul Choudhury and others.
