Harmutty TE emerge champs

LAKHIMPUR: The Chief Minister’s Tea Tribes Football Tournament held covering the legislative assembly constituencies of Lakhimpur district from February 2 concluded on Wednesday. In the tournament which was organized by the Directorate for Welfare of Tea and Ex-Tea garden Tribes, Joyhing Tea Estate appeared as winner while Harmutty Tea Estate and Ananda Tea Estate emerged the same in Nowboicha and Dhakuakhona LACs respectively. The final match of the tournament was held between Harmutty versus Joyhing Tea Estate at Deezu Tea Estate playground wherein Harmutty Tea Estate won the championship by 4-2 goals. Lakhimpur ADC Ashraful Amin, BJP president Phanidhar Baruah, Tea Tribes Beneficiary Selection Committee chairman Manoj Gowala, Mazdoor Sangha president Sanjib Tanti, DSO Atul Borah and many other dignitaries were present in the prize distribution ceremony of the event.
