GUWAHATI: We R North East started their campaign in the 10th Sitaram Chhawchharia Memorial U-19 Cricket Championship with a dominant 133-run victory over Santipur Athletic Club at the NFRSA Stadium, Maligaon, on Monday. The standout performer of the match was Aditya Roy Choudhury, who played a match-winning knock of 100 runs.

After winning the toss, We R North East opted to bat first. Thanks to Aditya’s impressive century, the team posted a total of 241/6 in their allotted 50 overs. Aditya, who faced 120 balls, struck eight boundaries and one six during his innings. Kaushik Ranjan Das (31 not out) was the other key contributor with the bat.

For Santipur, Nitish Talukdar and Deepjyoti Baruah picked up two wickets each.

In response, Santipur Athletic Club was bowled out for just 108 runs in 33.3 overs. Manish Mahato was the standout bowler for We R North East, claiming 4 wickets for just 10 runs, while Amarjit Sahu also made a significant impact with 3 wickets for 36 runs. Abhishek Yadav and Ankit Choudhury were the top scorers for Santipur, both contributing 21 runs.
