Itkhola AC Reaches Final of Assam Premier Club Championship

GUWAHATI: Itkhola Athletic Club (AC) from Silchar booked their spot in the final of the Assam Premier Club Championship (APCC) Cricket. In the second semifinal, held at Judges’ Field in Guwahati on Friday, Itkhola AC won over Tengapara Cricket Club from Kokrajhar by a huge margin of 80 runs.

The final of the competition is scheduled to be held on Sunday where Itkhola AC will face Triranga Cricket Coaching Centre

In the morning, Itkhola AC invited to bat first and they posted 188 runs in 39.1 overs losing all wickets. Roshan Topno played a well composed 62 runs, which included five boundaries and three sixes. Captain Abhishek Thakuri contributed a valuable 40 runs, hitting five boundaries and one six. Their fourth-wicket partnership between Abhishek and Roshan played a crucial role in Itkhola’s innings after an early collapse left the side at 20 for 3.

Ikramul Ali (24) and Harsh Kumar (25) also made contributions with the bat. For Tengapara, Bikiran Das bagged three wickets.

Tengapara too started their chase badly losing two wickets for just 16 runs. They didn’t able to recover as Itkhola were successful to take wickets on regular intervals. Finally Tengapara bowled out 108 runs in 29.2 overs. Only three batters- Nihar Deka (28), Ashim Das (23), and Bhargab Pratim Lahkar (23)- reached double figures. Hritwik Dhar, who is in good form in the competition, came out with another good performance and this time he bagged 3-24. Samik Das and Rahul Singh picked up two wickets each.
